Things can get a bit confusing since Destiny 2 finally switched from Blizzard’s platform and went to Steam. One day the game was $60 on Battle.net and today it is on Steam free to play. What happened? Well, after 6 years of constant updates and development, Bungie, the developers of the game, finally decided that it is time the game is introduced to new players. And what timing is better than when switching to the world’s biggest game platform, Steam?
So, if you have never played it before it probably means that you never got the chance to buy the game. Whether you did not feel like spending the money on it or if you were still collecting cash to get it, you are in luck. Now you can experience the game by paying exactly 0 dollars. That’s right, the free to play version on Steam will have tons of content that you can freely enjoy without having to pay for any extra downloadable content, expansions or whatever you want to call it.
Of course, if you want to, you can buy the latest DLC which is currently priced at $60 that will deliver you hundreds of hours of content filled with new gear, weapons, missions, and raids.

Well, considering how much content you can choose from, all those missions and raids, it can be quite confusing for new players where to start. We believe that the best way for new players to get into the flow and vibe of the game is to continue playing the original campaign of Destiny 2 called The Red War. It will be completely free to play and we think that it is objectively the best of all the other campaign missions. Not only will you experience the original Destiny 2 setting, but you will also get a feel of all the bits and pieces of the game.

If you bought Destiny 2 at its release and have not played since you probably do not have any of the extra DLCs bought. No worries, because everything that used to cost money, today all of the content will be bundled up together without having to pay a single dime to expect the new Shadowkeep update. If you have any Eververse armor, Ghost Shells or other items that you do not need, we recommend that you dismantle it because it will give you a brand new type of currency that can be used for the newest Shadowkeep items.
If you are a PC player then you should probably follow the guide to make the switch from Battle.net to Steam. If you do not have a Steam account, you will need to create one and then you will have to re-add all of your previous teammates and friends.

These requirements might be a bit outdated since these were for the time when the game released in 2017, but all of this hardware can handle Destiny 2 without any issues.
Although, a lot of people find an issue with the size of the game as it takes over 100 gigabytes of storage which is quite a lot. So, make sure that you have a big enough HDD or enough free space on it. Another recommendation we have for you is that you get an SSD to help you with the load times. The game’s loading times can be a bit annoying since they are pretty long, but with the speed of an SSD, you can be in-game in just a few seconds. A single 128GB SSD can cost you somewhere around 15 to 20 USD which is pretty cheap considering the performance benefits.
